What Kabir Singh Director Told Kiara Advani About Replacing Tara Sutaria In Film !!!

  1. Kiara says Sandeep Vanga approached her after watching Bharat Ane Nenu
  2. “I truly believe films are in your destiny,” said Kiara
  3. Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor releases on June 21

Kiara Advani says her upcoming film Kabir Singhdoes not glorify and promote “self-destructive” love. The film tells the story of a young successful but alcoholic surgeon (Shahid Kapoor) who goes through an intense heartbreak after the love of his life (Kiara) is married off to someone else. “Through this film, we are trying to say do not go on a self-destruction path as it is not good for you and your loved ones. We are not propagating that or glamorising that in any way. One should not do what Kabir is doing.,” Kiara told PTI.

“For me, it is ok to be a protective lover but there is a thin line between becoming an obsessive lover and a protective one. Kabir is not obsessive, he is a protective lover. He loves her a lot and she is head over heels in love with him. It is a passionate, intense, innocent and raw love story,” Kiara added.

Kiara plays the role of a medical student Preeti in the film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It is a remake of the director’s Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy, which starred Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey.

Kabir Singh underwent a lot of casting changes from Ranveer Singh to Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria for female lead being considered for the film, but it was Shahid and Kiara were eventually finalised. According to Kiara, Sandeep approached her through a casting agent after watching her performance in Telugu film Bharat Ane Nenu, in which she starred opposite Mahesh Babu.

“I did a screen test for Kabir Singh and Sandeep sir liked it. Things were almost locked but then for reasons best known it did not work out then. The film went through casting changes and one day it came back to me. I did ask the director why cast me again? He said because ‘I only see you’. He was convinced that only I could do this film. I truly believe films are in your destiny,” said Kiara.

She further says that her co-star Shahid was always Sandeep’s first choice as Kabir Singh. Kiara says she watched the original on the recommendation of Arjun Kapoor. “It was Arjun Kapoor who told me to watch this film because he knew I was doing Telugu movies at that time. And I had truly loved it. A few months later I read about a Hindi remake being in the pipeline. For me to be part of it and being directed by the original director for the Hindi version was important. He (Sandeep) has stayed true to the original film,” she said.

Kabir Singh is set to hit the screens on June 21. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde.

Kabir Singh: Find out why Kiara Advani stayed in a hostel for a week

Kiara Advani is grabbing the headlines for her de-glam avatar in her upcoming film Kabir Singh,, the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit film, Arjun Reddy. She will be seen playing the introverted and shy college belle, Preeti in the film. Being a method actor, Kiara has pushed the envelope in more ways than one, so as to completely immerse herself in her character.

In an interview, she said, “She comes from an orthodox home, she speaks when she is spoken to but her silences are strong. It is the toughest thing because it is such an internalised process. And you are channelising so much of that inner stuff… I remember when I was in Delhi for a month’s shoot, I used to feel really low and I couldn’t understand why. I think I got so immersed in this that I almost felt as if I should get some counselling or talk to someone.”

Now we hear that the actor went a step ahead to get into the skin of her character. Kiara’s character, Preeti, in the film stays in the college hostel. In reality, Kiara has never experienced the hostel life so, in order to understand how students stay in a hostel, she actually stayed in the hostel for one whole week.

Recounting her first-ever hostel experience, Kiara said, “Since I’m from Mumbai and also went to college in Mumbai I had never stayed in a hostel before but my character Preeti stays in one. I really wanted to understand how life in a hostel is for young students and so I decided to stay in one for a few days. The experience was absolutely enriching and it helped me while I interacted with the students.”

Kabir Singh, which also stars Shahid Kapoor, is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde under the banners of T-Series and Cine1 Studios respectively. It is slated for a release on June 21, 2019.

Vicky Kaushal’s brother Sunny Kaushal, Nushrat Bharucha come together for Shaailesh R Singh’s Hurdang

Producer Shaailesh R Singh is in full swing with his two star-studded projects Mental Hai Kya and Jabariya Jodi. The movies are produced under the banner of Karma Media and Entertainment.

Now he is all set to begin shooting for his next film Hurdang. The film is a love story inspired by true incidents of 1990 Allahabad. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt, the film stars Sunny Kaushal, Nushrat Bharucha and Vijay Varma.

Talking about the story of the film Nikhil Bhatt said, “This is a story inspired by true incidents. In the year 1990, as a kid, I saw thousands of youngsters getting involved in the fight for their rights, the students fought for two whole years. They were angry for being taken for granted and for two years the students’ lives came to a standstill. Every other day there was a bandh or a dharna. The students’ agitation was not politically motivated; they were fighting for their rights. Lots of lives were lost and lots of lives were rendered directionless. They say, love stories coming out of duress stall tall. Hurdang is a love story set in these times.”

Nikhil added, “I am very glad that I got this opportunity to direct this film. Hurdang is a hard-hitting subject that is sure to touch a chord with all.”

Producer Shaailesh R Singh is also excited about the film. He says, “It’s a young, restless love story from the 90s. People in 1990s were innocent and vulnerable. They didn’t have the advantage of technology the way youngsters have now. There was a deep desire to fight for your cause and claim your right.”

Speaking about the cast he said that Sunny, Nushrat and Vijay were natural fits. “Sunny and Nushrat play students coming from different ideologies and backgrounds, but a couple destined to be together. They play childhood lovers who have grown up together. Both Sunny and Nushrat bring innocent and palpable energy, naturally into the story,” he added.

Hurdang is all set to go on floors on July 1.
